You know that a year ago I began a weight loss journey.
And that is primarily what it was.
All about weight loss.
I lost over 40 pounds.
And then things got a little crazy.
My schedule changed around.
I had trouble fitting in workouts.
I had a tiny nervous breakdown.
I got off track.
I gained back 18 pounds.
But now I’m back.
I’m in therapy.
I hired a babysitter.
I’m getting more rest.
I’m taking better care of myself.
And that’s what my journey is about now.
Being healthy. Being fit.
Being in the best shape I can be in without sacrificing all other areas of my life.
Pushing myself but still maintaining balance.
It’s not about a certain number on the scale or being a psycho, or completely giving up sugar or white flour or whatever else is supposedly the worst food ever.
Yes, it’s partially about what I look like in a bathing suit.
But it’s not about looking like I did before I got married or had kids.
I appreciate where my body has been and what it has done.
Now the journey is about being at the top of my game.
And physically, I’m not there right now.
I’m registered for a half iron man triathlon on June 22nd.
That’s 117 days from now.
3 months and 28 days.
It’s a 1.2 mile swim, and 56 mile bike, and a 13.1 mile run.
I don’t really just want to finish it.
I kind of want to kick some ass in it.
And if I want to do that, I need to be in better shape, and I need to lose some weight.
I bought a workout bikini.
Here I am in it:
It’s too tight.
I would not not feel comfortable walking onto the outdoor pool deck at the Y wearing it the way I look now.
So I’m going to change that.
I’ve already started.
If you are looking for a little motivation, inspiration, accountability, and support from someone who can relate to how tough the journey to get fit and change your lifestyle can be when you are a mom with kids and a house and job and countless other responsibilities and limited money at your disposal, register for my next e-course.
It starts on Monday, March 3.
It’s only $25 for eight weeks.
I won’t just be talking the talk.
I will be walking the walk right along side you.
