So four really awesome things happened last week…
First Awesome Thing That Happened:
The day after Lose to Win was over, I wrote a letter every spin instructor, trainer, and staff member at the Y and personally hand delivered them.
Some of the people weren’t there when I delivered them, so I left the remaining letters at the front desk.
When I was in the midst of the Lose to Win madness, I was taking about 10 spin classes a week.
Every Wednesday night I took the 7 pm spin class. I never spoke to that particular instructor. I didn’t think she had any idea who I even was.
Last week I was working out in the cardio room.
That 7 pm Wednesday night spin instructor was on the elliptical machine.
As I was grabbing some paper towels to wipe off my machine, she caught my attention.
I was a little taken aback that she knew my name.
“I just want to thank you for your letter,” she said.
I was glad that she had gotten it.
I thanked her again for pushing me and motivating me.
And she said,
“No, thank YOU.
You inspired me.”
Awesome thing Number 2:
On Saturday we went to a Family Fun Day held by the town baseball and softball association.
The weather was beautiful, and there were lots of kids there.
I saw a few moms that I hadn’t seen in a while.
Everyone was happy and chatting and enjoying the sun.
Last year I was Number 4’s room mom along with another mom.
We were never close friends, but we would at least acknowledge each other and politely say hello if we saw each other outside of school.
I hadn’t seen her since Number 4’s end-of-the-year party last June.
I saw her on Saturday and smiled at her.
She walked right past me.
About fifteen minutes later, she came up to me.
“Oh my God,” she said.
“I just said to myself, I know her from somewhere, ” she continued.
“YOU LOOK FABULOUS!
I didn’t even recognize you!” she almost yelled.
No longer a bitch.
Third Awesome thing that happened this week:
I said I would do those extra ab dvd’s four times last week, and I did.
That’s not the awesome thing.
And before I get to that, my goal for next week is to be more mindful of what I’m eating.
I wasn’t great about keeping track of that the last two weeks.
So this week I’m going to do the Lose It app.
Here’s the awesome thing.
Today was the Day one of the 3rd week of P90X.
Day 1 is chest and back.
You have to do a shitload of push ups.
All different kinds.
This morning I did 20 consecutive standard push ups.
I haven’t been able to do that in.
I am getting really fucking strong.
And that feels pretty darn awesome.
Fourth Awesome Thing That Happened Last Week:
JAMIE LOST 5 POUNDS!!!!!!!
