I spent yesterday intermittently crying.
It was situational, but I have also been under quite a bit of stress recently.
I knew I needed to get back to basics and take care of myself and my environment today.
I spent about five hours cleaning.
The kitchen is totally clean.
The dining room is totally clean.
Both those rooms were a mess and that was definitely adding to me feeling stressed out.
Then I got my butt outside.
I didn’t take the dog and I didn’t let any kids come with me.
I went for a little hike by myself. The woods make me feel better.
But then I saw a bear track in the mud next to the river and I got a little freaked out.
So I went back home.
I told Marit I’d go paddle boarding with her after my hike, so we headed to the lake.
Kasen and Kristofer decided to come along.
They shared a board and Marit and I shared a board.
Marit insisted on doing all the paddling, so I just sat back and enjoyed the ride.
It was about 7:30 so the lake was nice and quiet.
As we headed back to the dock, Gretchen and Ingrid came down.
Doing flips is the new craze here.
The dock was a busy place this weekend so it was nice to have it to ourselves.
The kids had fun together.
It was a good day.
And I’m ready for whatever next week decides it’s gonna throw my way.

I am so happy you took time to get yourself better.
I am moving to Washington state today, and I can’t wait to live where the weather allows me to get outside during the summer, instead of where it is 105-114 during the day.

Not really related to your post, but I LOVE your dining room, especially the table. The room looks so comfortable and cozy – just right for fun meals and lots of family time.

Thank you Kim! It’s a little extra work to eat in there, but it’s totally worth it. 🙂
