Here on the blog, CCB is short for Cool College Babysitter.
When I first started writing the blog, CCB was our babysitter. Number 7 wasn’t even born when she started babysitting.
Now she’s all grown up.
And tomorrow she’s getting married.
More to come on that tomorrow or Sunday.
If you follow me on Facebook, you may have seen that I was at TJ Maxx yesterday because I needed something to wear to the wedding.
I had narrowed it down to these four dresses:
I posted this on Facebook looking for everyone’s input:
Thanks so much for your comments — over 500 of them!!!
There was an overwhelming winner.
Before I posted the picture, I knew which one I liked the best already, but I wanted to see what everyone else thought.
I also texted my husband to get his opinion.
We have been going through a very rough time, and tomorrow is the first time we will be out alone without the kids in months — like more than six months — so I wanted to look nice, and his opinion mattered to me.
He chose Number 1.
The resounding majority of Facebook went with Number 1 also.
I thought you might like to know which dress I decided on.
I was going to wait until tomorrow, but it’s going to be a little crazy, so I’ll let you know now.
I went with….
…
….
….
Number 1 also!
To be honest, I felt like #2 was the most flattering on me.
But I LOVE the plum color of Number 1, and I also really liked the sleeves on it.
PLUS, I have had these leopard print heels for about four years, and I have never worn them.
I WANT TO WEAR THESE SHOES.
I can’t walk in them — like at all — but I don’t care. I love these shoes, and they look awesome with the dress.
Plus, I have a shawl/huge scarf/pashmina/whatever you call it that’s the same color as the dress, and I’ve been obsessing over the Royal Family and all their wedding dresses, and everyone looks so good in all their monochromatic outfits.
And I wanted to be monochromatic, too.
Since it’s an October wedding in CT, there’s a good chance I’ll be chilly, so that was a factor in my decision, too.
I feel great in this one.
When Number 4 came home from school I was taking pictures of myself and she said,
“OH MY GOD, MOM!”
YOU LOOK AMAZING!
YOU LOOK THE BEST YOU HAVE EVER LOOKED!!!”
That felt pretty good.
But in the interest of keeping things real, let me also share this with you…
Underneath that dress?
Well, there’s a whole lot of stuff going on.
I may look the best I’ve looked in a while.
But that’s partially because I’m double Spanxing it today.
And I’ll definitely be double Spanxing it tomorrow.
