Everyone Gets Their Own Box

September 28, 2025 by not your average mom Leave a Comment

I don’t buy much processed food anymore; fueling the kids with healthy options is a priority for me.

But now that they are all in high school and often going from morning practice to school and back to practice right after school, I want them to have some stuff that’s easy to keep in their swim bags, won’t get totally smashed, and doesn’t need to be refrigerated.

Liquid IV packets are convenient and a decent option for replacing electrolytes.

And they really like the Built Puff Bars.

This stuff is expensive, and one box of protein bars can disappear in this house in a couple days.

Costco carries both of these, and they are less expensive there than most other places.

Plus, Liquid IV is on sale at Costco right now.

(I’m not an affiliate or anything – I just love Costco).

It’s hard to make sure everyone gets the same amount of everything, so this weekend I stocked up, and I got three boxes of Built bars and 2 bags of Liquid IV.

Everyone is getting their own box of protein bars. There are 14 bars in a box, so this needs to last them for two weeks.

If they go crazy and eat them all in less than 2 weeks they will have to wait for the next restocking opportunity.

There were 60 Liquid IV packets altogether, so I divided those into three bags.

They can keep the protein bars in their room and stock their swim bags as needed, and they can keep the ziplock bags of Liquid IV packets in their swim bag.

That way they’ll be good to go for the next few weeks no matter where they are.

If they don’t have time (or make the time) to pack food for before/after school, at least they’ll have this in a pinch!
