Think outside the (flower) box.

October 5, 2013 by not your average mom Leave a Comment

My husband built a bunch of these flower boxes, but they never got used.

They were just lying around in his shop collecting dust, so, I turned them into something else.

I took two and painted them purple using one of those free paint samples from the paint store.

My husband had some drawer pulls in his shop leftover from a job. I had him put a pair on the boxes. Now you can use them inside to carry things, for holding plants, magazines, anything!

A little hardware goes a long way!

There were still a whole boatload of boxes left…

I took 4 of the same size boxes and painted them blue (with paint left over from our dining room mantle).

My husband joined them together,

and,

instant bookcase!

Or shelves!

This would look so cute in a kitchen with some woven or wire baskets on the shelves.

I had him do the same with 2 smaller boxes.

You could hang this on the wall for a super cute little shelf.
