The harder the struggle the more glorious the triumph.

Last week I saw a mom I know (but not very well) at the Y.

I hadn’t seen her since one of the last little league games in October.

I smiled and said hi.

She did one of those “why is this person saying hi to me half smiles” and kept walking.

Bitch, I thought to myself.

And then just as we were passing each other, she did a double take.

“Holy Shit!” she said.

“You look awesome!”

She didn’t even know it was me.

Okay.

No longer a bitch.

More like BFF.

Yesterday my Cool College Babysitter made a surprise stop at our house on her way to visit her parents.

“You.  Look. Awesome.” she said.

She had this impressed look on her face.

Impressing a 21-year-old feels pretty fucking good.

Last Monday on the facebook page, someone asked if my husband has said anything about my progress.

Every week after I post the pictures he comments on the changes in my body and how noticeable they are.

But one thing he said stands out more than the rest.

He looked at my legs.

He didn’t say they looked hot.

Or sexy.

Or thin.

He looked at my legs and he said, “You’re legs look so strong.”

That might be the best compliment I’ve received so far.

Those legs have carried me pretty far.

But now they are going to carry me even farther than I thought I could ever go.

I feel really strong.

I have a Lose to Win friend who is not feeling quite so strong.

She’s feeling discouraged.

dont give up

Please hang in there.

Waiting to see that scale move sucks.

And so do the plateaus.

But getting past them feels good.

Really good.

While you are waiting to see that number drop — and it will if you keep going –get out the tape measure.

It made a big difference for me.

And remember this:

Michael-Jordan-Quote

Be one of those people who makes it happen!!!

You gave birth for Christ’s sake.

Twice.

If you did that, you can do anything.

Anything!

Hang in there!

And now for the pictures…

I discovered your blog yesterday and sat there for an hour reading a months worth of posts and laughing my head off. You are halarious. I really want to be able to see pics of your kiddos after reading all the funny things about them (that I can TOTALLY relate to) but on your about page I can only see one picture of number five, one of number six, and the pic of number seven. I tried two different computers. Just wanted to let you know! Thanks for the laughs, you are awesome!
