Last week I was on the bike at the Y.
My ipod was cranked as loud as it could go, so I was pretty oblivious to everything around me.
There was a seriously old guy on the bike next to me.
He tapped my shoulder, and I took out my headphones.
I thought he was going to say something like, “You sure are working hard.”
Or maybe he was going to ask about Lose to Win since I had my green shirt on.
But all he said was, “You sweat a lot.”
I wasn’t sure if he was complimenting me or insulting me.
I wish I had said this:
Oh well.
Right after that one of the lifeguards said, “You’ve lost A LOT of weight.”
That’s 2 people I don’t know at the Y who have noticed my progress.
I’ll take one old dude commenting on how sweaty I am for every 2 people who randomly compliment me.
Yesterday I ran a 5k race.
After I took 2 spin classes.
And I ran it 2 minutes faster than last year.
I’m a little sore today.
Yesterday afternoon my husband was outside with the kids.
My awesome neighbor came over with a delivery.
Number 3 saw her and said, “Hey Dad! Someone is here selling cookies!”
Here’s what she brought over:
I guess she thought I needed a little extra challenge.
10 weeks ago I would have polished off at least one of those things by myself.
But I didn’t eat one single bite.
The kids, on the other hand, had some serious dessert last night.
My will power may be stronger, but it’s not teflon strong yet.
I know my limits.
Nine weeks down.
Three to go 🙂

I hate to point it out, but that image with the willpower quote on it is possibly a little on the pro-ana side. Your pictures are great, you look real and healthy, but the woman in the willpower picture… she might need to eat some of those cookies. I’ve been that thin, it’s not really good. :/

Hmmm. I don’t see unhealthy. I see abs. And curves, actually. But I’m certainly not promoting anything unhealthy, so I found the same quote with a different picture and I changed it.

You are kicking but! Between your posts and The Biggest Loser, I am trying my best to stay on track (the stupid germs this winter are making this difficult though.) Keep up the great work…but more importantly, keep the honest, funny posts coming!

You’re doing great! I couldn’t have passed up the cookies. It’s probably (definitely) why I’m not seeing results from my workouts! 🙂
susiej says
Thanks Heather! It hasn’t been easy, that’s for sure, but saying no to the crap gets easier the longer I’m able to do it 🙂
