I’m in love. (With my hair)

March 28, 2015 by not your average mom 15 Comments

You know I’m on a mission to save money.

And this past week, I earned a couple extra bucks.

Today I invested some of it.

In myself.

At 1:00 p.m. I looked like this:

I entered the salon and said two things:

1) I don’t want a “Mom” haircut.

and

2) Don’t make me look like a dude.

And at 3:00 p.m., I looked like this:

Mission accomplished, I’d say.

Mr. Money Mustache might not approve, but I don’t care.

This is the first time I’ve spent money on a haircut in about 5 years, and it might be the best money I ever spent.

See what happens when you take a risk? When you move out of your comfort zone?

I was afraid the short hair would make me look older cause it would show all my wrinkles, but I think I look AT LEAST 10 years younger!

Someone even called me a MILF today.

Uh huh.

Take that, Robin Wright.

Wow.

I feel great.

Thank you for making me Number 1!

    hot, Hot, HOTTE!
I think Mr Money Moustache (or at least, Ms. Money Moustache) would say that a good haircut & good physical fitness are a low-cost alternative to a designer wardrobe.

Now that I’ve thought about it, I’m pretty sure Mr. Money Mustache would be so floored by how awesome my hair looks that he’d temporarily forget about money altogether.

Aww Susie, you look GREAT! What does your family think of the new “do”? When my son was 2 I had hair all the way down to my waist. I wanted a change so I had my hair ALL cut off. It was short but i did not look like a dude…hubby HATED the short hair and my son cried and cried and told me to put the “old hair back because you don’t look like my Mommy anymore” bless his heart…I have not grown my hair back out.love it short!

Talk about moving out of your comfort zone — I am shaving my head to raise funds for pediatric cancer research. Research saves lives.
The organization is called St. Baldrick’s and you will find my page below. My Head + Your Donation = Hope.https://www.stbaldricks.org/participants/mypage/751361/2015

Yup it’s an awesome cut, nothing like it to put a spring in your step!

Thanks, Charlene. Definitely life changing, and I feel silly saying that about a hair cut, but it is!
