Pink. She knows what she’s talking about.

Last night I was driving Number 3 and 4 to swim practice, and the three of us were doing the same things we usually do.

I was preoccupied with a million thoughts in my head.

Number 4 was singing at the top of her lungs.

Number 3 was staring out the window trying to tolerate Number 4’s singing, which drives him insane.

The song True Love, by Pink came on the radio.

Number 4 was singing away, and then she suddenly stopped.

“Mommy?!?! What???This song makes no sense!” she yelled.

I’ve heard that song a million times, but I’ve never actually listened to the words.

I snapped out of my haze, and listened to the lyrics.

At the same time, I wanna hug you
I wanna wrap my hands around your neck
You’re an asshole (that word was bleeped out) but I love you
And you make me so mad I ask myself
Why I’m still here, or where could I go
You’re the only love I’ve ever known

“See Mom? I really hate you, SO IT’S TRUE LOVE???

WHY DOES SHE SAY THAT???”

All I could do was laugh.

“Give it time, Number 4.

One day you’ll get married.

And then you’ll have your answer.”

True Love   😉
