Today I am appreciative.
Grateful.
Thankful.
I am thankful for t-shirts.
Sandboxes.
I am thankful for flip flops.
Nail polish on my toes.
A reason to shave my legs.
I am thankful for bicycles.
I am thankful that the kids have been outside for the whole day.
Just like they were yesterday.
I am thankful that I am not making playdough.
Or moonsand.
Or snow cream (which totally sucked, by the way).
I am thankful that for two days, I have not done one fucking indoor arts and crafts project.
I am thankful that the only thing in my fireplace is ashes.
Okay, ashes and half a bagel.
Not sure who put that in there.
I am thankful for lemonade and bare feet and being able to load the kids in the car without jackets or hats or mittens or scarves.
I am thankful for the little purple crocus on the side of my driveway.
Well, the one that was there before Number 4 picked it.
I am thankful for the dutch door in my kitchen that looks like this right now:
I am thankful for the smell of spring, running outside, and neighbors emerging from their houses.
Neighbors who are smiling. And waving.
I am thankful that my shovels are now being used to move soil.
I am thankful for sweat.
For little kids with dirt on their faces and under their fingernails.
I am grateful that chicken soup season is gone.
And pasta salad season is here!
Spring has sprung!
It’s the Best. Day. Ever!!!!

It was a wonderful weekend…kids on the swings, no jackets, short sleeves….winter is finally over!
