I Found (More) Perfect Jeans. And How I Created 9 Different (& CUTE!) Looks With Four Basic Items.

August 31, 2018 by not your average mom 2 Comments

If you saw my post last week about my back-to-school shopping trip to the mall with Number 4, 5 and 7, you know that I do not love shopping. At all.

But I do love looking cute.

You might also remember that back in July I partnered up with Betsy Boo’s Boutique.

So I seriously lucked out because they have really cute stuff and it’s only online, which means no leaving my house and no shopping and no mall!

YES!

This month, I picked out two classic black and denim outfits.

Before I show them to you, I have to say that since having kids and up until this past June, I have not had a pair of jeans that really fit me.

Like really fit me. And that I felt really good in.,

Then I got my first pair of jeans from Betsy Boos.

And then a couple weeks ago I got the two pairs I’m gonna show you in a minute and I AM IN LOVE WITH THEM!

I have been hitting home runs in the jeans department with Betsy Boo’s.

Let me show them to you.

*** OH — A DISCLAIMER — ***

I got a tripod so I don’t need to rely on the kids to take pictures of me, and I took the most of the pictures in selfie mode and did not realize how poor the quality of the photos was until it was too late and I didn’t have time to retake them!!! So my apologies for the terrible quality. (lesson learned for next time)

Okay. Now to show you how cute I look in my new Betsy Boo’s stuff.

First, here are the Alicia distressed straight leg jeans and the black off shoulder dolman top. I’m wearing the black wedges I got from Betsy Boo’s at the beginning of the summer.

But the weather is cooling down, so we are transitioning more into boot weather in the next couple months.

So here is the same look with black ankle boots (and a black bralette from Betsy Boo’s under the top).

If I really wanted to be fancy, I’d wear these leopard print heels. I have had these shoes in my closet for about two years and I’ve never worn them. One day I will wear them! I love them with this outfit!

Another thing I love about these jeans is that you can wear them with the bottoms folded up, or you can unfold them.

When the weather cools down, I’ll uncuff them. Here they are uncuffed with black ankle boots.

I love a black top and some great-fitting jeans!

I also love a comfy black sweater, which is why I got myself this black fringe cardigan. Here it is with the same jeans and ankle boots, with a gray tank underneath.

I love this look! It’s perfect for events at the kids’ schools or just running errands and feeling cute but also really comfortable!

For a slightly different look I paired the cardigan with the Joelle Medium Wash Distressed Girlfriend Jeans.

I love these jeans, too! I have never had so many jeans that fit me so well!

These jeans are a little looser fitting and the waist is a little bit higher than the Alicia jeans.

I switched out the gray tank for a white one, threw on a belt, and put on a pair of brown ankle boots.

Something I love about this sweater is you can wear it buttoned up, or you can unbutton it and wear it open.

Here it is unbuttoned and paired with a pair of leopard print flats.  I love this look, too!

Or you can go this route… I wore a striped top underneath with the same shoes, and I tied the cardigan in a knot. This is cute, too!

And for a more casual look when it really starts to get cooler, throw on a pair of comfy boots and a scarf.

This outfit is just as comfortable as yoga pants and a hoodie! I swear!

I am super happy with all these items. I love how they fit me, and I love how versatile they are.

And I’m really looking forward to feeling cute this fall with very minimal effort on my part!

These tops and jeans are pretty much going to be the foundation of my fall wardrobe.

I have wanted to try the jeans but the sizes are 1,3,5,7,etc. I thought this was juniors sizing. How did you decide what size to order???

I went one size up from the size I am right now in even sized jeans. I’m a ten right now, so I got an eleven, and they fit perfectly. 🙂
