I could start off by saying how I’m thankful for my children today.
Which, of course, I am, but that would be boring.
And I could mention my gratitude for my parents, who have been extremely helpful over the past few days, but that would be boring too.
There’s also my husband, and my health… yeah. BORING.
What I’d like to say is that I am grateful for everyone who reads this blog. It has been exactly 7 months since I wrote my first post. And in that time, I have learned a lot from all of you.
Including the following:
- attaching a brush to something in the bathroom so that it can’t be removed saves me at least 15 minutes of every day frantically searching for one like a complete lunatic. Now I’ve got an extra 15 minutes every day to frantically search for all the other shit I can never find.
- Paul Mitchell #4 shampoo gets the green out of chlorine damaged hair. It costs about $4000 a bottle, but it works really freaking well.
- Zappos has free shipping both ways, and a 365 day return policy. So I never have to enter a shoe department with children again. We are never, ever, ever, going shoe shopping together…..like, ever.
But some other really cool shit has also happened because of all of you.
Remember this picture from this post?
Well, a reader suggested I enter it in a local back-to-school contest.
I did.
And I won.
Well, I tied for first. But I still won.
How cool is that?
And you all know about the Mother Bloggers tv show.
Well I’m on that because you all consistently vote for me and keep me at the top of the Mommy Bloggers website. Without that exposure, I never would have been chosen for the show.
Another reader directed me to Rob Granholm, the awesome dude who is helping me to redesign my website.
Doesn’t it look good?
That same reader alerted me to someone who was publishing a book on pregnancy, and looking for mom bloggers to contribute to it. So I sent in my stuff, and guess what?
She accepted it.
And the book is coming out tomorrow!!! As of tomorrow, I am a published author!
That’s CRAZY!!!
It’s called Bumptabulous.
And here is the website.
Feel free to leave a comment on my section about how awesome I am 😉 And if you are so inclined, buy a copy for that friend of yours who is expecting (I don’t get any money from the book, but I do get exposure).
And one more thing…
Since you have kept reading, and voting, someone from Dateline checked out my blog and emailed me yesterday.
Dateline.
She said she liked my style and my honesty.
Now, they are not doing a piece on bloggers, but on moms and holiday shopping.
But still, I might be on Dateline. And if I am, they will mention my blog.
On fucking Dateline!!!
Because of you guys.
So thank you. I really mean that.
And have a really awesome Thanksgiving.
