I talk a lot about intentions with my Tribe members.
I also have a daily journal page I encourage all of them to fill out every day, and one of the sections on the page is to declare your intention for the day.
It’s a way to help us all remain mindful and remember what our real focus is.
First thing every morning, I fill out this page and I write down my intention for the day.
Here’s what I wrote for today:
My intention today is to fill my body with healthy fuel.
When you are mindful of your intentions, you are more likely to stay on the path to wherever it is you want to get to — weight loss, improved fitness, a more organized house, more effective parenting, a healthier marriage, etc.
Today when you are tempted to do (or not do) something, remind yourself of your intentions.
Your intentions for one year from now and your intentions for one day from now.
If your one year intention is to lose twenty-five pounds, will what you are about to do help get you there?
If your one month intention is to declutter a room in your house, is what you are about to do going to help you get closer to that goal?
If your one day intention is to go to bed feeling good about your choices, is what you are about to do going to help you get there?
I repeat my intentions to myself all day long!
Remind yourself of your intentions and your purpose as often as you need to today!
