My husband found this table on the side of the road.
The top was kind of a mess. My dad took it off, flipped it over, and painted the whole thing black.
It still had some blemishes, so I decided to camouflage them.
I made a checkerboard. I used painter’s tape and a framing square.
Don’t get the blue painter’s tape — get the green. The blue stuff sucks.
I taped off 2″ x 2″ squares and painted them white.
It took about 3 coats of white paint to cover.
Then, I took the tape off and taped in the other direction.
Since the base of the table is black, I needed to make a border around the edge.
I used a light green, and…Voila!
Checkerboard table!
