Number 6 scribbled all over my computer monitor with pen, and then with sharpie. It looks like a Jackson Pollock painting.
I licked my finger and tried to wipe it off that way, but that did nothing.
So here I sit, typing this through the graffiti on my screen. Just like I have every day. For the past 3 months.
What is my problem?
I know it would take about 12 seconds to clean it off. And every day I say to myself, I need to get something and clean this thing off.
And then every day I don’t.
There is a list of at least 10 other things that I have been meaning to do for months, or even years, which would probably take me less than a minute to do, and which I still haven’t done, including these 3:
1. the dresser knob
Number 4 unscrewed one of the knobs off of her dresser at least a year ago. Somehow it ended up in the “junk drawer” in the kitchen. I open that drawer about 25 times a day. Every time I open it, I see that pink knob and say to myself, I should run upstairs and put that thing on.
But I never do.
2. the recycling bin
We had a big family reunion here in July. I put a recycling bin way down at the bottom of our yard where the horeshoe pits are so all the guys could put their cans and bottles in it.
When we had another little party on Labor Day, the bin was still there. Unemptied.
It’s still there now. I should really empty it.
But we might have one more party in October…
3. The little man in the hallway
Someone drew a little man on the wall in the downstairs hallway. Probably Number 4. Every day I walk past him multiple times. I did buy one of those Mr. Clean magic erasers and I even got so far as to take it out of the wrapper.
But then I got distracted by something, and Number 6 got ahold of the eraser and ripped it into about 35 little pieces.
So the little man was saved.
And now I kind of like him.
He’s the only person in this house who keeps his mouth shut, so I think I’ll keep him around for a while.
But I am going to check something of that stupid list. Today. (What are you gonna check off your list? I know you have one too 😉 )

Idk if it would work on a computer screen or not, but if I want to get Sharpie off a dry erase board, I scribble over the Sharpie lines with a dry erase marker and then it wipes right off.
On my to-do list? Repairing at least 3 holes in the drywall of the upstairs hallway that my youngest (#6) made at different times during time-outs gone very wrong. I’ll take your hallway’s little man any day.

I have a dresser knob too! Somewhere. Don’t know where. But someday I will get a new one and be able to open #2’s drawer the “normal” way. But, why do it now? It is way fun to struggle with that darn drawer every morning. It is funny how we all have these ridiculous things that we put off and don’t do. Hmmm…
You’ve got to keep the little man, though!

So did you find that knob yet?
