If you watch Rachel Ray, then you may already do this.
In high school, my best friend’s dad did this… waayyy before Rachel. He had a small container on the kitchen counter that he put garbage in. I used to seriously make fun of him.
But now I have one too.
I re-use plastic bags from the grocery store in a “garbage bowl” on the counter. When I’m making any meal, I just throw all my garbage, food scraps, etc. in there. It saves a million trips back and forth to the garbage can, and it helps to keep the counter a little less cluttered.
What do you do to save time in the kitchen?

Before I start, I drag the trash can over to the counter area. But whatever works!
Also, when unloading the dishwasher, I do the bottom drawer first but leave plastic spoons in the utensil holder so the babies will grab those instead of knives/ glasses/ plates. I end up with plastic spoons all over the house, but it’s better than broken glass in the kitchen.
