Last year we stopped letting the kids watch TV or use any electronics on school nights.
At first it was a bit of a challenge. They were pissed, and I had gotten used to using the television as a babysitter.
Now, they don’t even think twice about it. Neither do I. And it has resulted in the kids playing and being creative and actually utilizing their brains.
Tonight Gretchen made a book.
I don’t know what prompted her to write this or where she came up with the content, but I thought it was pretty spot on. And really cute.
So I thought I’d share it with you.
Here it is.
The Fashion Book
If you are wearing an outfit that you like, wear it. Do not ask somebody.
If someone is wearing an outfit you do not like, do not say anything.
Wear what clothes you want to wear.
Have fun with your fashion.
It’s not just a fashion book. It’s a book about personal style, and manners and self confidence.
And she narrowed it down to four pages.
I don’t think I could have said it better myself.

That’s awesome!!! She wrote down how every child should react. If your don’t have anything kind to say don’t say anything at all!
PS
Love the idea of no electronics during the week. The only this we allow our little guy is tv but that could be cut down. How was the first week?! Lol
