A few years ago, I watched an Oprah which was about “The Secret”. According to The Secret, you are a magnet attracting to you all things, via the signal you are emitting through your thoughts and feelings.
According to The Secret, we create our lives, with every thought every minute of every day. The woman who wrote it encourages people to start off each day thinking about all the things they are grateful for.
In the history of days, yesterday was in the top 10 of the all-time suckiest days. Ever.
But according to The Secret, I brought it all on myself. So in order to skip a repeat performance, I’m starting off today with this list of things to be grateful for:
1. I am grateful that only one child completely soaked her bed yesterday and had a total meltdown before 6 am.
2. I am grateful that when my daughter asked why my tummy was so fat she didn’t add in, “And what are all those lines on your face?” like my son did.
3. I am grateful that although Number 3 informed me I’m not #1 on his list of favorite adults, I am still on the list.
4. I am grateful that when Number 5 and 6 decided to smash eggs all over the kitchen, hallway, and living room floor, at least they were hard boiled.
5. I am grateful that when they took an entire bottle of Mr. Clean and dumped it on the floor to try and clean up their mess, that they at least took care of the first step of the clean up process for me.
6. I am grateful that when Number 6 majorly wiped out in the massive puddle of Mr. Clean he had made, that his injuries didn’t require medical attention.
7. I am grateful that when Number 5 decided to repeatedly sing “I hate to sleep, I hate to sleep” for 25 minutes in her crib during naptime, that she didn’t wake up her brother before I finally broke down and got her out of her bed.
8. After I loaded all the kids in the car to take Number 1 to band practice, I’m grateful I ran out of gas before I had left the driveway.

Do you love the smell of Mr. Clean in the mornings?
Do you love the sight of diapered toddlers destroying (or cleaning, depending on your perspective) kitchen?
Do you love the sound of the I Hate to Sleep song?
You have much to be grateful for, my friend.
LOVE this post! So glad I found your blog, and congrats on your TMB status (I’m not jealous. Much.). I’m now a follower.

And yeah, if they are under 3, I don’t even bother with clothes at this point…

I agree- if you’re in diapers, pants aren’t required. And if you’re in the back yard, and potty training, then pants aren’t required either.
