I just had an idea.
And I’m not really joking…
If you follow my facebook page, then you saw this a couple weeks ago:
Yeah. These weekends are killing me.
Finding a way to get the kids to baseball games, swim meets, band competitions, football games, and birthday parties which are all taking place simultaneously requires way too much planning.
I feel like a football coach going over plays before a game.
Okay. You cover him. While you drive over there, I’ll cover her, and drive over here. Then you take these two, drop them off here, and drive over there…
I don’t know what a zone defense is, but I’m pretty sure we have one going on here.
On Saturday my husband was at Number 2’s game. Number 1 was at a band competition. I was at Number 3’s game.
I had to call in reinforcements to pick up Number 4 and take her to a birthday party. Thank God for them.
So I was there watching Number 3 play baseball with Numbers 5, 6, and 7.
I mean “watching.”
Because I really spent the whole time making sure Number 6 didn’t beat the crap out of any other kids with the branch that he found and was swinging around like a caveman. Or that Number 7 didn’t eat too many handfuls of dirt. Or containing one of Number 5’s 14 meltdowns. Or walking back and forth to get the sweater or sippy cup or wipes or blankie that I left in the car.
In the 2 hours that I was at the field, I think I managed to see Number 3 up at bat once.
So back to my idea…
If you have a kid who is 12 or older who wants to make some money, take him or her to one of these games. Have them set up a little lemonade-type stand with a sign that says “I will watch your kids for $5 so you don’t completely ignore the child that you are supposed to be here watching.”
By December I bet your kid has enough money socked away to pay for her first semester of college 😉
I’m Number 2 in the Humor Blogs and Number 5 overall! Please help me get to Number 1 and the top 3!!! I need your votes!

I am a mom of five boys and just recently found your blog and it is a life saver. I know now that my family and my life is not all that abnormal. Your weekends sound much like mine. Football game here, soccer here, soccer there, birthday party….. The list just goes on. I don’t even know how I find time to pee. Thanks again for your blog.
