A couple weeks ago I wrote this post where I described the kind of summer I wanted to have this year.
A more relaxed, old school kind of summer.
And I kind of wrote it as a list, but I didn’t necessarily think that I was actually going to do every single thing I wrote down. But that was the kind of summer I was going for.
One of the things I wrote in that post was, This summer I will take a nap in a hammock.
The only problem with that one was that I don’t have a hammock.
This morning I had to coach swim practice, and as I got into the car I got a message that said, Wooden table and chairs on Long Meadow.
People in town know that I’m a sucker for free furniture on the side of the road because I love to repurpose things.
I found out exactly where it was, and I knew the house — it’s really nice and really old, and I was pretty sure the table would be in good shape.
So I headed over there directly from practice but by the time I got there (which was only about 5 minutes later) the table was already gone.
Damn!
But there was some other stuff there.
And guess what I got for free today!!!
A hammock!
This summer just got a little bit better.
