I have gotten so much better about staying on top of the house.
BUT…
This past week we had a snow day on Monday, a delayed opening on Tuesday, early dismissal on Friday, 4 kids in 15 different Y swim practices, a Y swim meet, middle school swim team time trials, 2 wrestling practices, a wrestling dual meet and a wrestling tournament.
I had a little mini breakdown in the middle of the week and two days where I didn’t shower or change my clothes at all.
Then I snapped out of it and made exercise a priority.
But now my office looks like this:
My front hallway looks like this:
My dining room looks like this:
The dining room isn’t that bad, really.
My mudroom looks like this:
And this:
And my kitchen looks like this:
My dishwasher bit the dust about a month ago and we are really struggling to keep up with the damn dishes.
Anyway, sometimes you gotta make choices in order to keep everyone alive.
The house has been at the bottom of the list the last couple weeks.
And that’s okay.
But it’s time to put it back up at the top again.
Because it’s just adding to the chaos.
And I feel ready again to deal with that now, too.

We use our broken dishwasher as a drying rack. ☺️

That is actually a really good idea and I’m gonna do the same thing.
Beth says
When you can, shut the door. It is okay, one day they will all be living somewhere else and you can have a clean house then. Hugs!

I wish I could, but there are no doors to any of those rooms! Ha!
