I’ll tell you all about the marathon tomorrow.
But here’s one little story.
Around 21 miles, I saw a guy I used to swim with in college who was volunteering at an aid station. I haven’t seen him in over 25 years.
He said “Oh my gosh!”, gave me a big hug, and then sprinted up ahead and took this picture.
You never know where you will find support, but it always shows up in the places you need it most.
I had an amazing day.
I ran the fucking Boston Marathon.

Congrats on your race! I am a fellow runner, but only half crazy! I always find inspiration from the smallest supporters holding the biggest signs and wearing the biggest smiles!

I was tracking you yesterday. My daughter (#5, 8yrs) first asked how long a marathon was and I told her. She said, “wow, I bet with all your runs added together, you haven’t run THAT far!” Ha. We talked about how people would run for 3, 4, 5 or more hours. Then she asked if I knew the people I was tracking. So I told about each one. I said I read your blog and you write about your 7 kids. Then she said, “I bet she is GLAD to be running!!” Guess she knows the chaos and loud of a big family and how frazzled moms can get! Can’t wait to hear how it went!

Dude. I’m not a runner, unless you can count running after a curious toddler, but I am in awe. You ran *the Baton Marathon*. With enough energy to smile simultaneously. Well done!
