It’s been a good Mother’s Day.
It started off with handmade cards and gifts.
If I could buy my mom anything it would be a friendship bracelet. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Then we headed to the Mother’s Day 5K in town.
Four of the kids ran with me and Number 6 was a cheerleader because, as he says, I’m not really into sports because I’m a gamer.
We will work on that.
And when I say four of the kids “ran it with me,” what I really mean is four of the kids kicked my ass but we all ran the race at the same time.
It was Number 7’s first 5K, and she finished second in her age group.
It was Number 5’s first 5K and she finished third in her age group.
Number 4 finished second in her age group.
Number 3 won his age group.
Everyone got a medal.
Except for me.
But that’s okay cause I didn’t do it for the medal.
I just did it for me.
And it was nice to share the experience with the kids.
I also got another present. From my husband. Which is kind of a big deal because my husband is not really a present giving type of guy.
Wanna guess what he got me?
It wasn’t a gift card to a spa.
It wasn’t a coupon for a night out.
It wasn’t dinner or a candle or jewelry.
It was….
MY OWN POWER DRILL.
Some people might not be so happy about this gift, but I AM SO EXCITED because I love power tools and I can’t wait to use it.
Anyway, that was my day.
As far as Mother’s Days go, it was one of the best.
Hope you’ve had a good one, too, and Happy Mother’s Day to you all!

A power drill is the sweetest gift ever 💕💕💕💕and all the rest. Love the kid who is a gamer-carving his own path-gotta love his spirit

Ruth,
I know I have to let Number 6 do his own thing, but I definitely struggle with having a kid who is not into sports. At all. Especially when he’s super coordinated and talented.
