Well, we lost the phone, cable, and internet, so I’m attempting this from my cell phone…
But we still have power.
And this is why…
A couple weeks ago I brought Number 3 and 4 to swim practice. Number 3 got out of the car and slammed the door in Number 4’s face before she could get out totally on purpose.
Then he immediately tripped over his bag and fell.
This led to a discussion about karma, and me explaining that what you put out to the universe comes back to you.
“Mom, is that really true?” asked Number 3?
I told him I believed it was, and that was the end of the conversation.
So yesterday I warned the kids that there was a good chance we would lose power.
Number 3 looked as though the world was coming to an end.
He walked out of the room slumped over and dejected, only to return seconds later, bright-eyed and full of hope.
“MOM!”
“Yes?” I answered.
“Maybe if I follow all the directions today something good will come back to me and we won’t lose our power!”
I couldn’t believe it.
One of my children actually listened to something I said.
And not only listened, but actually tried to apply that knowledge to his actions.
So anyway, that’s why we never lost power.
According to Number 3, anyway 😉
