Number 1 didn’t go to school yesterday. Apparently he contracted a pretty severe case of Lyme Disease. Which makes complete sense.
Except for the fact that he hasn’t had a tick on or near his body since last summer.
He had no fever. No joint pain. No swelling. No nausea. Not even a little sniffle. But he did have a “headache.”
So we let him stay home. He was “unable” to get out of his bed for the entire day he was so sick.
Number 2 had his last baseball game of the season last night, and we were all excited to watch.
Number 1 has lost the privelege to stay home alone due to several telling the truth (or not) and grade-related issues so we told him he had to come to the game. We had him stay in the car where he could continue to rest and recuperate. We didn’t want him to strain himself or do anything to make his “condition” worse.
Lo and behold, wouldn’t you know that after 2 1/2 hours of sitting in the car, Number 1 made a complete recovery.
IT’S A MIRACLE!!!
Well, I can check find a cure for a major disease off my list of Things to do before I’m 50.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got to go pick up my Nobel Prize.
I’ve been trying to explain to my six year old that mommy staying home means I lose a day of vacation time which means NO SUMMER VACATION for the family. He still doesn’t quite get it.
Just give him a bunch of tissues and throw him on the bus 😉 You’ve got your priorities, right?
