I’m about to throw this f%#!ing computer out the window

When I first started writing this blog, someone suggested I check out and comment on other peoples’ blogs in order to get more readers for mine.  So I googled “mom blogs”, and I found a webite called Top Mommy Blogs.  It lists blogs written by and/or for moms in all different categories and rates them.

I read a couple of the blogs, but I felt like it was filling up my head with other peoples’ words, and I didn’t want that.  Plus, one of them referred to her kids as Numbers 1, 2, and 3.  I thought I was so creative and smart “numbering” my kids, and someone else had already done that.  So I didn’t read anything else.  I wanted all my ideas to be my own, even if they weren’t completely unique.

But I did want to get my blog on that directory.  You have to have 3 months of consecutive posts to get on there.  So I made that my first goal.  Write for 3 months, and get my blog on that website.

I wrote my first entry on April 22.  I have not missed one day since then.  Sunday was July 22.  3 months exactly.  I went back to the website to put my blog on there.  After reading a little more carefully, I learned you have to apply, and then your blog has to be reviewed, approved, and accepted in order to be on the site.  So I submitted all the required info and waited.  They said it could take up to 14 days.  I checked my email about every 5 minutes once I had submitted my application.

Now, still being new to the blog thing, this may be really small-time, but 2 days later, I”M IN!!!! WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

So do you see that icon to the right?  The one that says “Top Mommy Blogs on the Web”?  Well you can click on that once a day.  PLEASE VOTE FOR ME!!!  If you are not on my home page, click on “blog” up at the top in the black menu bar.  That will take you to my home page, and the icon for Top Mommy Blogs will be on the right.  Or you can click on the icon at the bottom of this post.

My new goal is to get on the top 25 on that list within one month, but I need your help!  If you would click on that icon each time you read a post, I think I can do it… and thank you all for your support 🙂

So I did plan on writing about something this morning, but I have spent the last hour trying to figure out how to get that stupid icon on my sidebar and how to add a picture that will show up next to my blog on TMB… I got the first one figured out, but the second one still has me completely frustrated and pissed off…so I need to take a break before I smash this thing with a sledgehammer.
