In a couple hours I’m heading into New York City.
Tomorrow is the New York City Marathon.
I’m running in the New York City Marathon.
I still can’t believe it.
I’m excited.
Excited for this:
and this:
and this:
I’m also shitting in my pants for those same reasons.
I’m nervous.
Really, really nervous.
This will be the biggest physical challenge I’ve ever undertaken.
I don’t know if I’m physically prepared.
I think I’m mentally prepared.
I have a goal of breaking 4 hours.
That’s a lofty goal for me.
Almost unrealistic.
All the stars will seriously have to be in alignment for that to happen.
And I’ve also put that goal out there.
So what if I fail?
What if it takes me 5 hours?
Or 6 hours?
I could stress about it.
Or, I can just have fun.
I’ve got seven kids here to take care of.
It’s a miracle I’m still standing at the end of each day.
So who the hell cares what my time is?
Just finishing will be an accomplishment.
Yes. Finishing will be a big accomplishment.
So that’s my plan.
Big goals, but no pressure.
Enjoy it.
Experience it.
Set an example for my kids.
Set an example for you guys.
And set an example for myself.
However long it takes me, it will still be a best time.
And that’s what this is about.
My personal best.
Setting the bar.
And then raising it.
Yep.
Shoot for the moon…
Even if you miss, you will land amongst the stars.
It’s gonna be a good weekend.
Make yours a good one too 😉

Good luck to you Susie! You are going to do great no matter what! And I think you are a good influence no matter if you finish in 4 hours or 7 hours. Have fun and don’t put too much pressure on yourself. I will be checking in while I lay here with my knee wrapped up and on pain meds wishing I could go for a damn run! xoxo

Just popping over from the UK to say hello! I’m impressed that you have such a large brood AND find the time to run a marathon. Sounds like a bit of a Supermom to me. Hope it’s a blast!
