One year ago today, we got slammed by a freak blizzard here in CT.
You can see the snow starting in the window behind Number 3 and 6, who were carving their pumpkins with Papa.
We had a lot of fun carving pumpkins.
But we had no idea that the next day our front yard would look like this:
And our back yard would look like this
Our trees were destroyed.
Halloween was cancelled.
School was cancelled.
For a week.
But while most people in town and the state were without power for many, many days, we, miraculously, never lost ours.
I’m hoping we have the same good luck this year.
But just in case, I need to start carving pumpkins.
If we’re gonna have to break out the candles, we might as well make it fun.

Well I just am sending out blessings and prayers to everyone having to contend with this hurricane. I live in Florida and have been thru a few myself including Andrew and Charlie. I was out of power for weeks and it was so humid and gross but we were okay, didn’t loose our roof like most of our neighbors and although two huge pine trees fell in my yard,. they missed the cars and the house snd neighbors that I didn’t even know came and chained saw one huge tree blocking my driveway and my cars in such a way I was completely blocked. How lucky I was to have them help me! My hubby was in South America for work so I was alone with two kids. Neighbors helped neighbors perfect strangers many of them and wouldn’t accept money. People really come together when there is a disaster. So blessings to you and yours, I lit my candle for you. Be safe. Peace and love… Sandy (the person, not the hurricane)
