Number 7 and I made this super easy popsicle stick ornament today.
We used popsicle sticks, bows, glitter glue, paint, twine, and pom poms. Most of the stuff I had from the Dollar Store.
You could use Elmer’s glue to glue the sticks together, but I used a hot glue gun because I didn’t want to wait for it to dry.
I glued the sticks together and then Number 7 painted them green.
We used tempera paint, so they dried pretty quickly.
I tied one of those cheap bows around the top, and then Number 7 came up with a plan.
She wanted pom poms on one and glitter on another.
She put like 50 pounds of glitter glue on the smaller one, so that won’t be dry until next Christmas.
The bigger one we finished right away. I put the glue on for her because she was having trouble squeezing it out.
Then she put the pom poms on.
I used an old piece of cardboard to glue a picture to the back, and I glued the twine underneath it and put a piece of foam on the bottom for the trunk.
She loves it!
And it looks super cute.
If I thought about it, I would have colored in that little white spot on her picture in the bottom left corner green or something. It bothers me, but she doesn’t care.
If you don’t have all these materials, you really can use anything to decorate the sticks. You can color them with marker rather than paint them, use stickers, pine cones, whatever!
Your kids don’t really care how perfect they are; they just have fun making them!

Please put the date on the back. You will thank me when you get old like me! Love this idea. my favorite ornaments to put on the tree are ones my son made and have his picture in them!

If you want to do something without photos, use the same 3 popsicle sticks and fashion into a reindeer head. Pipe cleaner antlers, pom pom noses, and googly eyes make for cute ornaments too
