I love chalkboard paint.
The kids love chalkboards.
So it’s a win-win situation.
I made a little “chalkboard” on the end of the cabinets in my kitchen. It helps to keep the kids busy and away from the stove when I am cooking.
Number 4 loves to write down what we’re having to eat.
She gets a little writing practice, and I don’t have to answer “What’s for dinner?” five million times.
I also painted a small section of the wainscotting in Number 3 and 4’s bedroom. They use it all the time. The older boys have a whole wall of chalkboard up in their room. They love it too.
If you have a spare 30 minutes, paint a wall, or tape off a section somewhere and paint away! Your kids will love it. No matter what age they are.
If you decide you don’t want it there anymore, you can always paint back over it!

Such an awesome idea! Do you have a type of chalkboard paint that you recommend? Or do they all pretty much work pretty well?

We get all of our paint from Benjamin Moore. It’s not the cheapest, but it covers better than the cheaper ones, so you need less coats. Plus, we get the contractor discount, so that helps 🙂

Cute idea! I’ve been wanting to do this for a long time. I also want to paint the inside of my pantry door with chalkboard paint as a easy store list.
