I have 2 babysitters that I really rely on.
One is my dad. Thank God for him. The kids love him. Way more than me. He reads with them, draws with them, plays hide-and-seek with them, plays board games with them, practices baseball… Very hands-on. He’s great.
The other babysitter is available even more than my father. But both the kids and I had really started taking advantage of her. So I kind of had to fire her. Just on school days.
Last week, we said goodbye to the television on Monday through Thursday nights.
I had been thinking about this for a while, but I was dreading the fallout from the kids.
I envisioned this:
and this
But they all kind of just accepted it. I thought I’d get a decent enough reaction for a good blog post.
Instead, I really got nothing. I actually got the opposite. Everyone’s been cooperating. Number 3 made this pretty cool board game the other night:
And I even sat down and read a couple books with Number 5 while Number 3 and Number 4 played that game.
It’s been very Cleaver-esque.
And very tiring.
Thank God it’s Friday.
I need to turn that damn tv back on and seriously ignore my children.
