I was up today at 4 a.m. so I had time to take a shower and do a couple things before I had to leave the house at 5:30 a.m. with Number 5 and Number 7 for a swim meet.
It’s been pretty much nonstop since then, aside from 3 – 4:15 pm when I completely passed out on my bed after the meet.
I had to go to Costco and drop Number 4 at a friend’s house and get gas and take Number 7 to look at a bike and make dinner and pick Number 4 up from her friend’s house and in between dropping Number 4 at her friend’s house and making dinner, I came in the door and kicked my flip flops off right in the dining room against the wall because I was just really tired and didn’t feel like putting them where they belong and Number 7 said to me,
WHY DO WE HAVE TO PUT OUR SHOES BACK WHERE THEY BELONG AND YOU DON’T???
And I started to rattle off the reasons why I was exempt from the rules and she just kinda tilted her head and looked at me.
And then I realized what I was doing and I just shut up and silently picked up my flip flops and put them where they belong.
And that’s all for today’s post.
A reminder that when you are a hypocrite your kids notice.
And they remember.
So don’t be a hypocrite.
