Number 7 is in high demand.
All year long, she has been asked by several girls to have play dates.
And all year long I have turned people down, or said, “Yes, we’ll definitely get together.”
But no day is ever convenient.
And I always say the same thing.
“I have too much work to do.”
As the school year is winding down and the reality of Number 7 almost being done with preschool is hitting me, I am being slapped in the face with the reminder that time is flying by and there are things that need to get done but maybe they don’t all have to get done immediately.
But I do need to spend more time with the kids immediately.
Cause they are growing up way too fast.
On Tuesdays my parents usually take Number 7 to their house and I have that time to get work done.
And I never give up that time willingly.
But tomorrow instead of turning down another opportunity, I’m turning down the work day, and Number 7 and I have a date with a good friend and her daughter.
And it’s going to be beautiful and we’re gonna go for a little hike at Kent Falls and pack a picnic.
Tomorrow I’m going to enjoy time with a friend and time with my daughter.
It’s something I haven’t done in a long time.
And I can’t wait.
