Eight weeks ago I joined an online strength training program designed by The Sculpted Vegan called Butt Camp.
It’s and 8 week shred and sculpt program designed specifically for losing body fat and also really hammering your lower body but specifically your ass.
I joined this program for three reasons:
1) I wanted to give myself something healthy to really focus on during the divorce.
2) I need to incorporate more regular strength training into my routine (I’ll do cardio all day long but my body really needs more resistance training).
and
3) I’m working on losing weight and transforming my body and I knew this would really help me.
There was a competition element to Butt Camp.
You didn’t have to participate in the competition, but I love that kind of thing, and with no running races or triathlons on the horizon, this was perfect for me.
I’m not in the running for the competition, I don’t think. There are close to 3,000 women in this program, and a lot of them are pretty hard core.
The competition was for biggest transformation, with a big focus on the butt area (hence the name Butt Camp).
I wasn’t able to follow the program to a T.
Being in the middle of a divorce in the middle of a pandemic and then with a major tropical storm that took most of our town out of commission for a week with no power and no internet, there were many challenges over the last 8 weeks.
But I did the best I could.
And here is what I was able to accomplish since June 22.
I’m pretty proud of myself.
There is a second round of Butt Camp starting in September, and I’m doing it again.
Cause I may be almost 51 and I may be in the middle of menopause, but I’m also just getting started.

i have been sitting on the fence about doing this program, I am not sure I am disciplined enough to count the macros and always follow the food guide. I am vegetarian, almost vegan, I like cheese otherwise I would be.
Were you active previously? How much time a day did this take? Did you do his from home? Any injury?
I run but otherwise out of shape
Thank you!

Hey Lynn~
I have been exercising consistently for a few years, so yes, I was very active before joining (but not doing consistent strength training). It was a VERY intense program. If you aren’t ready to commit 2 hours a day to working out then I would hold off for now. I wrote about it more here: https://not-your-average-mom.com/how-i-lost-twenty-pounds-and-started-changing-my-body-after-50/

Hello Susie,
well I was on the fence but jumped in and purchased the program. I did great! I was thrilled with the results, its a big commitment. I followed it almost to a T.
I also followed by doing the Buns and Guns, I took a two week break I believe. I also enjoyed this program and was happy with the gains I made.
Unfortunately it isn’t sustainable and I not only gained all the weight back, I gained an additional 15. So mad at myself as I know from the past that unless it is sustainable I will always gain it back or burn out. Almost 3 hours a day is not sustainable for me.
so I am sticking with running, bootcamp twice a week and now will add some weight training.
How are you doing?

Hi… great results…I’m impressed with your commitment it definitely payed of. You were beautiful from earlier but with the new improvements I understand you feel better.
I saw in a previous comment you spent 2 hours every day working out. Can you say a bit more about that? Would a part of that time be a run/jog/bike ride/walk? Or is it “in the gym” type of exercise ?
Keep up the good work !!

Hey Sue! It started with 30 minutes of cardio twice a day – once in the morning and once later in the day, and then 30-40 minutes of strength training. The cardio increased by 10 minutes every 2 weeks and worked up to 60 minutes twice a day. It got me great results, but that amount of exercise is unsustainable for me.
