Ever since she was in first grade, Number 4 has been waiting to audition for the fourth grade play.
More like dying to audition for it.
She’s definitely loves to be on stage. And she has a beautiful singing voice. And the fourth grade play is a musical, so it’s right up her alley.
Last year when Number 3 was in fourth grade, he auditioned for Aladdin.
We were shocked when he declared he wanted to audition. We were blown away when he got the lead.
His disposition is much different than his sister’s.
But I think she’s secretly been hoping, or maybe even expecting, to get the lead in the play this year, since her brother (who isn’t really even that into performing) did last year.
When she found out the play this year was Peter Pan, she was very excited.
But she came home from the auditions last week feeling a little bit dejected.
I asked her what was wrong.
Last year during auditions, Number 3 kept getting called back to read for the part of Aladdin with different girls.
So we kind of had an idea that he might be getting that part.
This year, Number 4 got called back a few times during the second day of auditions.
But she wasn’t happy about it.
Because while I think she has been envisioning herself being cast as Wendy ever since they announced which play they were going to do, that’s not the part they had her come back to read for.
Nope. Instead, more than once, Number 4 was asked to come back and read for a different part.
And if what happened last year during Number 3’s auditions is any indication of the way things work, well, I’m sure Number 4 will make a really good…
