Back in November I volunteered to coach the middle school swim team.
I was adding another thing to my plate and I knew there was going to be a time where I was completely overloaded.
That time was this past week.
I have been operating at an unsustainable pace.
It’s why I haven’t written one blog post in the past week.
I simply haven’t been able to do it all.
I am not complaining. I’m really happy I decided to coach the swim team. It has been such an awesome experience, and there are only two weeks left in the season, so things will settle down a little bit in February.
So I’m really just checking in to say hi to you all and let you know I had to make some decisions this week and prioritize, and blog posts didn’t make the list.
But you know what did make the list?
My hair.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I was trying to grow it out.
I made it this far:
Ugh.
It was just flat and lifeless and it wasn’t even that long, but it was taking a lot of work to make it look decent and that awkward-growing-out phase is just the worst.
I couldn’t do it anymore.
This is what it looked like from the front without any primping.
I just ended up putting it behind my ears all the time and it was annoying, and with the schedule overwhelm, my insides were feeling as flat and dull as my hair.
So I made an appointment on Friday, and instead of pounding out a bunch of work, I gave myself a pick-me-up.
I know they say blondes have more fun, but I’m gonna see what kind of fun UBER blondes have.
This was a couple weeks ago.
This was yesterday.
This is right now as I write this.
It’s amazing what a haircut that you really love does for your insides.
Anyway, the next time I start growing my hair out will someone please remind me of this post?
I love my shorter and blonder hair.
Okay, that’s all for now.
It’s snowing out and it’s movie night.
I’m gonna go make some popcorn and hang out with my kids.
But first I just had to get back on the blogging track.
See you tomorrow.
Until then, don’t forget to take care of yourself.

I just did the same thing my hair was down past my shoulders and I was so tired of it! So I went blonder and cut it up past my chin. New hair for 2020!!

I am a true supporter of short hair. So many women think long hair is the only way to go. And older women (like me) with long hair long, well, look awful (IMHO). And you say you were a swim team coach-so I am assuming you are also a swimmer? Your haircut is the best for that, although you have to be careful of the colour.
Be happy with short hair. It looks spunky, energized and fresh.
