Editor’s Note:
If you are new here, a few months ago I received a comment from a reader. That led to this post. And then this post. The readers of this blog came together to help. It was a pretty amazing experience. We all fell in love with Patty, and many of you have been asking for an update on how she is doing. Here it is!
For the last 3 and a half months I have cried, laughed, smiling and worried constantly. Sometimes I struggle. Sometimes I’m doing amazing. I have days where I feel like I can’t do this. And that I’m not good enough. But I also have weeks where I feel like I can handle this. And that I’m beyond good enough.
I got a good job at a hospital an hour away from our apartment and because of how they pay I’m able to just work that job. It’s a 12 hour shift. But I get 4 days off a week to spend with the boys. So I’m happy with it.
People still email me some and ask how I am. And sometimes people send me letters and I answer them both as soon as I can. It’s so warming that there’s support all around me.
The boys are doing great. Number 1’s birthday was yesterday! He is now officially a 3 year old. He is walking a lot. And he’s doing good eating regular food some. He’s making progress.
Number 2 is up and moving tons! He wants to walk so bad. He’s talking too. Well,he’s baby talking but he’ll get there.
They are both happy and growing up to be wonderful little boys. They miss their dad, they just don’t see him enough and don’t understand why. But they’ll get through it and it’ll get easier in time.
All the love you guys have shown me and all the support from literally all over the world has been so uplifting. Don’t stop being generous to strangers. The feeling you guys give me is what I try and make my patients feel everyday. To have someone care so much and they don’t even know you is so humbling. It’s such a different side of the world that people don’t get to see enough.
Much love,
Patty and the boys

Yay!! Finally!! This is so awesome to hear. I have been wondering. I tried “stalking” her on Facebook, but everything is private. We hadn’t heard from you about anything, so I was scared.
Patty, this is awesome!! I am so amazed that with the help of totally complete strangers you were able to change your entire world. Keep remembering that you are strong & brave. You will get through!!
