What is Not Your Average Weekend?
Not Your Average Weekend is an all-women’s weekend retreat that will give you the opportunity to get away from your family, relax, try something new, rediscover yourself, and get yourself back on the list of priorities. It’s an opportunity for you to let your hair down and inhibitions out, take a risk, and to poop alone.
Who can attend?
Any woman age 21 or older is welcome.
When does Not Your Average Weekend take place?
Friday, February 27 through Sunday, March 1, 2015.
The perfect way to get you through the last stretch of winter!
The event kicks off with Registration and Happy Hour at 4pm on Friday afternoon.
Can I come alone?
HELL YES!!!
This is the perfect opportunity to meet new people and develop long-lasting friendships. We offer single rooms if you are too shy to share. Or we can pair you with someone else who will be traveling alone. It’s all up to you!
How do I get there?
Not Your Average Weekend will be held in the beautiful Litchfield Hills of Connecticut at the Interlaken Inn.
The address is 74 Interlaken Road, Route 112, Lakeville, CT 06039.
How much are retreat tickets?
You can book a single, double, triple or quadruple room. Below are the prices:
Single: $525
Double: $450
Triple: $400
Quadruple: $325
How can I purchase tickets? (Please book your room using the below option only)
You have two options: Pay in full now, or pay a deposit of $150, and pay your balance by February 1, 2015. NOTE: Please book your room through the PayPal link above. Do not call The Interlaken Inn. Thank you.
What will I get for my money?
- 2 nights lodging
- dinner and (limited) open bar on Friday night
- breakfast, smoothie break, lunch, happy hour, dinner and complimentary margarita punch
- a kick ass brunch on Sunday
- MMA classes, yoga classes, pole dancing classes on Saturday morning
- photobooth, games, karaoke, dj and dancing on Saturday night
- the time of your f***ing life!
But I don’t drink.
No worries! There will be water, juice, soft drinks and coffee/tea offered.
How early can I get there on Friday?
The recommended check-in time is 3-4pm.
When is check-out on Sunday?
You will need to be checked out of your room by 11am, which allows you to sleep in a bit if you would like, but then you can hang out all day! There will be a brunch served starting at 11am. There are other activities on and around the premises that you may take advantage of if you wish. See below for things to do in the area.
What if I’m traveling from out of state?
It is easy to get to the Interlaken from either the airport or the train station. There are a couple of airports that are fairly close by.
We recommend that you fly into Bradley International Airport in Hartford, Connecticut. There is also LaGuardia in New York City.
The Wassaic Train Station is approximately 15 minutes from the Interlaken.
Will you have transportation from/to the airport?

What should I pack?
Saturday we work out a little, so pack whatever you feel comfortable working out in. We recommend workout shorts or yoga pants, a t-shirt or tank, and sneakers.
For the evening activities, dress as you like. The idea is to relax and have fun. We don’t want you to stress over your wardrobe.
Although we don’t have any outdoor activities planned, you may want to check the local weather for the weekend so you can pack appropriately. If you want to take a walk, you’ll want some warm stuff!
Am I allowed to bring my own food and beverage?
You can bring food and beverage, including alcohol, into your room. If you have a food allergy, please send Mo an email (maureen@not-your-average-mom.com) and she will do the best she can to make sure you are accommodated.
Is there anything to do in the area?
You will be enjoying yourself so much at the retreat that you may not want to leave. But in case you want a breather, or take in the sights of the Litchfield Hills, there are a few options outside of the walls of the Interlaken Inn:

If you don’t have plans for the weekend of February 27th to March 1st, you do now.
And if you already have plans, you should cancel them.
Mo and I took another trip up to the the Interlaken today.
The drive alone is worth the trip.
It was gorgeous today.
Gor. Geous.
Now in February, the drive won’t be quite so picturesque.
But it will still be
absolutely beautiful.
So today, Michelle at the Interlaken treated us to lunch.
We checked out the food.
And the wine.
They were both delicious.
The strawberry and feta salad and the vegetable quesadillas were two of my favorites.
And yes, those will be on the menu for the weekend.
And not only did the Interlaken take great care of us, but they also sent me home with some goodies for Papa who held down the fort while I was gone for the afternoon.
So many of the Not Your Average Weekend plans have been finalized.
I can tell you the cost.
Before I get to that, here is what is included in the price:
~ 2 nights in a clean, neat, and tastefully decorated room that you won’t have to clean.
~ dinner ,open bar, and entertainment on Friday night
~ breakfast, smoothies, lunch, dinner (that you won’t have to cook), and open bar on Saturday night
~ yoga classes, self defense/MMA/karate classes, pole dancing classes on Saturday (these are optional, but strongly encouraged to attend!)
~ pool, cards, games, karaoke, dj, and dancing on Saturday night
~ a relaxed and delicious brunch on Sunday morning starting at 11 a.m. so you can sleep in (and recover if you need to)
~ some seriously kick-ass goodie bags
~ fun, relaxation, fun, no kids, fun, no husbands, fun, no cooking, fun, no cleaning, and more fun!
~ raffles, giveaways, and more!
So, the cost…
For all that stuff listed above, here is what you’ll pay:
~ double occupancy room (2 queen size beds): $450 for the entire weekend!
~ triple occupancy room (2 queen size beds): $400 for the entire weekend!
~ quadruple occupancy room (2 queen size beds): $325 for the entire weekend!
~ single occupancy room (1 king size bed): $525 for the entire weekend!
I know, right?
That’s a great deal!
If you don’t want to miss out (there are only 100 spots available!), you can reserve your room now.
To do that, you will need to call the Interlaken at 1-800-222-2909, ask to make a reservation for Not Your Average Weekend on February 27th, and put down a deposit of $100.
Obviously, the more people you share a room with, the lower the price, so get your friends together and make a weekend of it!
The rooms will be reserved on a first come, first served basis.
If you are going with a friend, let the Interlaken know, and they will make sure that you are placed in rooms together.
In the next week or two, I will be launching a crowdfunding campaign to raise money and sponsors for this weekend (if you have a business you’d like to promote or gain exposure for, this will be a great opportunity for you)!
