Last week at the end of swim practice, I said goodbye to the other coaches and collected my stuff to leave.
I grabbed my phone and keys from the shelf and headed toward the door.
Oops. I forgot my water bottle.
I walked over to the end of the pool to get it.
It wasn’t there.
I looked over at the window ledge where I sometimes put it.
It wasn’t there either.
Maybe Number 4 had taken it.
I went into the locker room to look.
Nope. No water bottle.
I went back out on deck. Maybe I had left in on the shelf with my keys.
No water bottle.
I walked back to the end of the pool.
Had I gone into the office?
CCB was there coaching with me.
She was still on deck.
I was getting frustrated. I had now wasted a good 4 minutes looking for my water bottle, and I was in a rush to get home.
CCB watched me make multiple trips around the deck.
“What are you looking for?” she asked.
“My stupid water bottle,” I told her. “I don’t know where the hell I put it.”
“Um… you’re holding it,” she told me.
Oops.
Message from the universe taken.
So today I will take 5 minutes to just sit.
It’s beautiful here in Connecticut.
The roses aren’t out yet, but I’m going to take some time to smell something.
Why don’t you do the same?
Your water bottle can wait.

Once awhile ago was looking for my phone so I called it from my house phone. …… I did a circle like a dog chasing its tail a couple times before I realized it was in my pocket. … DOH! I have done plenty me also. Some unique spots I have found things that were missing is my phone in the freezer not one but twice! The remote controller was once in the oven! That one was before children so I can’t blame them.

I have once told the person I was talking on the phone to that I can’t find my phone! Sad!

I think it’s a mommy multitasking thing. You’re message from the universe was much more positive than mine was on my most memorable oops. All I could do was call myself an idiot after a panic attack looking for my baby… that was in the Baby Bjorn… strapped to my body! Slow down is much better 🙂
