CCB (Cool College Babysitter) graduated from college almost a year ago.
She’s still cool, but she’s not in college, and she doesn’t babysit anymore.
Now she’s got a full time job.
And in two weeks it’s Take your Daughter to Work Day.
Seeing as she doesn’t have a daughter, she emailed me last week asking if she could take…
Number 4.
Of course I said yes.
So yesterday CCB came over to hand deliver an invitation to Number 4.
Number 4 opened it and started reading:
Dear Number 4,
You are cordially invited to
Take Your Little Friend to Work Day…
Please RSVP to…
Love,
CCB
With every word she read, Number 4’s eyes opened wider, and her voice grew louder.
When she finished reading the invitation her head looked like it was going to pop off and fly around the back yard.
I asked her what it meant.
“I HAVE NO IDEA!!!!!” she yelled.
She didn’t care. She was still excited.
So CCB started explaining.
“You’re going to come to work with me,” CCB told Number 4.
“Where do you work?” Number 4 asked.
“For the Department of Social Services,” CCB told her.
“What’s that?” asked Number 4.
“Well, I help people who are in need,” CCB answered.
“SO I’M GOING TO WORK WITH PEOPLE WHO HAVE SPECIAL NEEDS?!?!” yelled Number 4.
CCB tried explaining, but every question become more tiring than the next.
I finally told Number 4 she’d just have to wait and see what happens when she gets there.
Until then, I think I’m going to have to invest in a GoPro and strap that sucker on Number 4.
That way when she is the youngest person ever to either be offered a job or banned from the Social Services Department altogether,
well,
at least we’ll have it on tape.
