In the past year I’ve made a few lifestyle changes.
I’ve lost 40 pounds.
I’ve adopted healthier eating habits.
I’ve recognized the benefits both physically and mentally of regular exercise.
But I still like to have fun.
I still like to break the rules every once in a while.
Like on Halloween.
Halloween is about fun.
And candy.
And overindulgence.
As far as I’m concerned, anyway.
It’s not time to make a statement.
Last night we walked down about a 13 mile driveway while we were trick or treating.
And the woman who lived there opened up the door and handed out a Go Go Squeeze to all the kids eagerly waiting outside her door.
One of the girls we were trick or treating with looked at me.
“She gave us applesauce,” she said to me.
I felt the same way.
Applesauce.
On Halloween.
How lame.
If you want to make a statement about how you feel about candy,
um,
turn off your lights and keep the door closed.
Bring that case of applesauce to the food pantry.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to find those trick or treat bags.
We’re having Snickers breakfast.

She is right up there with the people that gave raisins back in the 80’s. Give me chocolate and sugar!

Yikes! I did something new and gave out stickers and glow sticks this year. Did I elicit the same response from kids after I wonder? 🙁

Probably not…Glow sticks are fun. So are stickers. And all in good fun, Tiny. All in good fun 🙂
