Ever since he was a baby, Number 3 has worshiped his older brothers, as little brothers often do.
But he has always had a very special bond with Number 2.
The beginning of the school year is that time of year when the kids fill out worksheets so the teachers can get to know them.
Open Houses are coming up in the next few weeks, so they are also doing those types of things for the parents.
On Friday I had to pick Number 4 up early from school to get her elbow checked out by the orthopedist.
I had just pulled into the driveway with Numbers 4, 5, 6, and 7 after the appointment, and then Number 3’s bus pulled up.
Number 2, who is in high school and gets home about and hour and a half before Number 3 and 4, came out to driveway to say hi.
Number 3 ran off the bus.
I was taking the kids out of the car, and he ran right past me, no “Hi Mom!” or anything.
He ran directly to Number 2.
“Number 2! We had to fill out these papers at school today and we had to write down stuff about ourselves and we had to write something that we love.
And…
I wrote you.”
Awww.
Big brothers are pretty awesome.
And those little ones?
Well sometimes they can be pretty cool too.
I think I’m going to give my little brother a call today.
Just because, you know, he’s something that I love, too.
