Or you could do what I did last week:
a total of 526 minutes of cardio
- 4 miles swimming
- 12 miles running
- 2 spin classes
- 3 fitness classes
- 3 days strength training
I know that’s a lot.
But I’m an all or nothing kind of girl.
Plus, I have this problem:
So anyway, I lost a total of 2 pounds…
Not very much…
But at least I finally lost something.
And I think things are starting to shift around…
So I’m feeling motivated. And encouraged.
And here are a couple things I learned:
1. If you walk into a fitness class and don’t say a word to anyone, no one will say a word to you before, during or after the class.
But if you walk into a fitness class, look at the first person you see and say, “I’ve never done this class before, and I have no idea what the hell I’m supposed to do,” at least 5 people will flock to you.
People like to be helpful.
Or at least make sure you know that they know way more than you.
But either way, they will take care of the new kid.
And then, those people that helped you in the beginning of the class talk to you after the class. You know, to see if you made it through okay.
And then the next time you go to the gym and see them, they say hi to you.
Instead of completely ignoring you.
So there’s that.
2. Fitness classes are kind of fun.
And they are more fun when you go with a friend.
Especially if that friend is less coordinated than you are.
3. There is an app called “Lose It.” It tracks what you are eating, how many calories you’ve consumed and how much exercise you’ve done. You program in the amount of weight you want to lose each week, and it figures out how many calories you can have per day. It’s easy to get started, and it only takes about 30 seconds every time you need to enter any info.
Totally worth it.
4. Thanks to this app, I discovered that I am eating way more than I thought I was.
So I’m still dealing with this issue…
But I’m on my way.
It’s not too late to join me.
In fact, I found out last week that there are 2 secret members of my Lose to Win team…
They have been joining in, on their own, at home.
That’s pretty cool.
So if you haven’t started yet, today could be the day.
If I can do it, you can too.
