So I have been working out at the Y in the mornings.
And during that time, there are mostly 2 groups of people there.
Really old ladies who basically float around in the pool.
And moms my age who are either taking a class or have children in swim lessons.
And here are my observations on those two groups of women.
The women my age are not friendly.
They don’t acknowledge you.
When you walk into a room and sit down on a spin bike, they look directly at you, and then look away.
And it really fucking pisses me off.
How about for your random act of kindness today, you act like a person with feelings, and say hello to every woman who walks past you?
Even if you don’t know her.
You know, just to appear….
But then there are the old ladies.
Thank goodness for the old ladies at the Y.
One of them showed me how to set up my spin bike when I was totally clueless.
And then there is my new best old lady friend.
I’m fairly well endowed in the boob department.
So when I work out, I have to wear two sports bras.
And yesterday, in the locker room after spin class, I was pressed for time, and rushing to take them off.
And I was so sweaty, and they were so tight, that in my haste, I got stuck in them.
It was ugly.
And really embarrassing.
So anyway, after watching me struggle for several minutes, an old lady getting ready to go swim swooped in to save the day.
Let me help you.
I had to bend over.
So she could pull them off of me.
Not one of my prouder moments.
But it was for my BOLF.
Thank you, BOLF.
Let that be a lesson to you ladies in the 35-45 age bracket.
Help a sister out.
And if you can’t do that…
At least crack a smile 😀
