Someone I know found herself in an embarrassing situation today.
I felt bad for her.
Because I know how she felt. The same thing has happened to me. More than once.
So to make any of you out there who are feeling embarrassed for whatever reason feel better, let me share with you a list of some of my most embarrassing moments:
1. I have had a credit card declined with a cart full of groceries and no other method of payment. At least three times.
2. I have peed in my pants. As an adult. Before I had kids.
3. I have farted in gym class. LOUDLY.
4. I have been that drunk chick who totally wipes out on the dance floor of a wedding.
5. In tenth grade I cheated on a chemistry quiz. And I got busted, big time, in front of my whole class.
6. I watched my four-year-old pee on my tomato plants and then 30 minutes later, I watched my pregnant friend pick tomatoes from those same plants and eat them.
7. My kids have called people fat and ugly and weird and gross and scary within earshot of them. Many times.
8. In college in a human sexuality class, the grad assistant running the class read that semen was described by someone as tasting like chlorine, and upon hearing this I blurted out, “IT TOTALLY DOES NOT TASTE LIKE CHLORINE!”
9. I have asked women who were not pregnant when their babies were due. Yes. Women. I did that one more than once, too.
10. Last night, to kick off the launch of a new business, I had a small wine tasting party at my house. I spent the day cleaning. I wanted my house to look great for the guests attending. I wanted my house to appear put together. Because then I would appear put together. I might have pulled it off had I not greeted the first eight people who came over with my pants totally unzipped.
But at least I was wearing underpants.
So see?
Don’t sweat it.
Things could always be worse.

Thanks for sharing. I have many moments were a post like this would of helped lessen the sting of embarrassment, I was that girl that tripped on her gown while walking the stairs to receive my diploma.

This made me laugh several times. Thank you for sharing. Getting a little perspective makes me feel better. I have family coming for Christmas and my house is as messy and dirty as it has ever been. I have no idea when I’ll make it look like I’ve got my $#!+ together.
