In case you are here for the first time…
- My husband had a serious boogie boarding accident in August when we were in North Carolina.
- After navigating all the insurance bullshit and reaching out to everyone here on the blog and on the Facebook page, we met with a really awesome neurosurgeon at Yale.
My husband had a second MRI on Monday, and we met with the neurosurgeon again this past Wednesday.
He’s been cleared for spinal fusion surgery, and it’s scheduled for this Thursday (the 24th).
We are hoping his left hand and arm will fully recover after surgery, but it is possible it won’t improve at all. It could take up to six months to know for sure.
But at least the procedure is scheduled, and he’ll be able to get back to driving in about three weeks, and pretty much all of his regular activity in two months.
Thank you all for your well wishes. And thank you to everyone who has helped me out with meals and the kids.
The next three weeks will be a little busy with surgery and pre-op appointments and PT stuff.
There is still a meal train going, and I could really use some help for the next three weeks.
People are still asking how they can help, and honestly, the meal train has been a lifesaver. If you want to sign up for a dinner in the next three weeks, here is the link!
Thank you again so much to everyone for all the support.
We’ll let you know how surgery goes on Thursday.
In the meantime, if you want to show support for Daryl, you can always buy a copy of his novel!
