Number 3, who is in second grade, had to hand in a long-term project yesterday.
He had to make a “heritage doll.”
Here is what I learned from completing this project:
1. I need to actually read those papers my kids bring home from school.
2. I don’t know much about my heritage.
3. It stays light in some parts of Sweden 24 hours a day in July.
4. I want to go to Sweden in July.
5. I can make a pretty good heritage doll in under 30 minutes.
With multiple kids crawling on me.
And only felt, scissors, and Elmer’s glue at my disposal.
6. I do some of my best work under pressure.
And here is what Number 3 learned from completing this project:
1. Mom can make a really fucking awesome heritage doll.
I know you have tons of shit to do.
I know the pressure to have your students perform well on the CMT’s has gotten out of control.
I know you are overworked and underappreciated.
Because I was one of you.
For 12 years.
But do me a favor.
Save the projects for in school.
Like I did.
Teach my kid how to research.
And pay attention to detail.
Because I already know how to do that shit.
And so do all the other parents who handed in their heritage dolls yesterday 🙂
All you need to do is click on the banner above to register a vote for me!
You can vote one time every 24 hours from every computer and cell phone! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!! I really appreciate your support!
