Here is something quick for you to think about tonight before you go to bed.
My husband and I are seeing a new therapist, and here is something we learned last week:
For every stupid/thoughtless/hurtful/mean/shitty/bad thing you do/say to your spouse, it takes five thoughtful/caring/supportive/awesome things to undo and cancel that one dumb thing out.
Share this info with your husband/wife/girlfriend/boyfriend/partner.
The next time you find yourself in a situation where your other half is being a ding dong, instead of completely roasting them and potentially turning a kind of small thing into World War III, just smile and say to them,
“Whoops! You owe me five things now!”
It might help to lighten up the situation, plus it will be a reminder, not only to your spouse, but to you, too 🙂
