I don’t cut the crust off my kids’ sandwiches. And I don’t throw away the ends of a loaf of bread. Again, like Grandma, throwing away even the smallest amount of food now makes me sick to my stomach.
Sometimes I have a leftover hot dog bun or one last piece of bread that’s a little too stale to eat. I put these pieces of bread into a container in my freezer. When it gets full, I dump the bread into the food processor, chop it up, and I have bread crumbs. Throw in some parsley, oregano, garlic powder, whatever you like, and you have seasoned bread crumbs!
No waste, and great for meatballs, meatloaf, anything you need breadcrumbs for!
